Hey Scott, Justin here.  Stumbbled back onto the NCKA website late tonight.  Pretty tired to type much but I'll post sometime tomorrow.  I've got a report about Sunday morning after I met you.

Sorry for the late reply.  I ended up heading out early the next morning(sunday) after I saw you.  I started at the main beach and deep cranked a nice 3lber.  Worked my way around the dam and over to the long point where I met you on Saturday.  Started throwing the big baits and within about 10 cast I stuck a NICE one.  Got her all the way to the yak and she got off.  Looked to be 6 to 8 lbs.  Had huge mouth, big enough that my 9" bait was pinned sideways in her mouth.  I don't think I ever got the hook in her.  Oh well, sure got the heart beating.  I ended up throwing the bait for a good hour without another bite.  I switched up to the jig and quickly caught a couple nice chunks.  Ended the morning with 3 fish in the boat and 1 big one lost.  As I was leaving LOP later that afternoon I thought I saw you out in the middle of the lake in the rain.  We should defiantly get out again together.  With few more weeks of consistent warm weather the bite is going to turn on.

Justin

P.S.  Here is a photo of my 10lber from LOP that I caught in my yak last November.

Justin,

Sorry for my late reply to your reply. Nice shots of the big bass! And I still find it amazing that you are hooking up after dark, in the dead of winter...

Here's my collection of pictures from the two days. I'll create a new post after I get back from an outing this afternoon.

A picture of the 18" fish, none of the pictures of the first fish really came out.

The smallest of the bass, caught on Sunday

The crappie that came home for dinner

It really wasn't all that nice out there on Sunday

Crappie on the plate

Gratuitous child/kayak shot. Taken during the sun-break on Saturday. And yes, those are toddler sized Xtra-tuffs :)

I'm headed out there as soon as I post this. Weather is beeyoootiful. Gonna take a drop shot rig, a big jig, and the Missionfish.

Scott
