Nice photos.

Twins? Yikes! Did you get a tandem for 'em to tag along when you go out?

Sounds like you all enjoyed the day but looks like the dogs had more fun than anyone!  :dog:

More like matching yaks.

Way to get the fellas out for some fun, Don.  That's some back-breakin' surf.  Man I need some water!   :smt007 :smt006

Yep, I was about to say that it's time to go to Sean for a couple of Mini-X's, until I remembered you already have the whole Hobie Navy on your side.  :smt001

Nice looking head bonk there, D!  But no pics of the black eyes to match?   That does it; I'm wearing a helmet when I go on the ocean, dweeby looking or not.  The wife and kids will be glad I did, and it adds extra flotation for my thick skull.  :smt003

I call that kind of surf, "grovelling for waves", cause those conditions are for the hard-up. but I'm sure they had fun.

regarding the hard-earned lesson, Danglin, next time get the heck out of the boat when it gets to be shallow.

riding the boat right to the shore is just plain silly and for show offs. well, you are a show-off, but keep that to the fishing!  :smt005  :smt044  :smt005  :smt044

the reason you should listen to me is that I have surfed pretty hard the last 20 years and I still take entry and exit pretty darn seriously, if not more so. getting wet is no big deal, getting slammed into sand by 70 lbs of kayak is a very big deal as you found out.

when in the ocean, I never ride that thing right to the sand, I always get out a little earlier than everybody else. only get in front of the kayak once you are right on the sand.

stay safe and have fun with the boys.

still a good idea to not get between the kayak and the hard stuff.

the bigger waves are usually safer in some sense cause the water is deeper.  shorebreak is sketchy.

I am remembering somebody who rode in to ankle deep and got flipped, had the kayak on the head.
maybe that was somebody else.

I had to pull some tourist kid out of the surf at ITS a few years ago. He was playing in big shore break and got totally pile drived into the sand, not pretty.
