Doran beach 1/19

 Pending weather/conditions, Im planning on heading to Doran Park (bodega bay) and spending time in small waves. I want to test out the mini-X in the surf and may bring another boat along. All are welcome to test.  Not interested in getting pounded, due to my job/mortgage commitments, so ill stand down if its big, but its always nice to have a few more sets of eyes watching out for rogues.

Sounds like fun! I need to bring my brother for entertainment.........last fall he held a "yard sale" at Fort Ross. I tried to warn him about securing EVERYTHIHG on the kayak............he just responded "I've done this in much bigger surf before".   See you there unless any local rivers clear up.     Allen

My wife's going to Sacramento to visit her sister that day.  I'll be there.  Camo Tarpon 120, and (probably) my son on an OD green Scrambler XT.

Terry as much as I would love to do this. I hear steelies calling me with no rain in the forecast the RR should be perfect this coming weekend. Get done early and we can do a shorty in the afternoon.

There are steelhead in the RR? Who knew? Guess my plans are made. Thanks for the invite Terry, but I will have to excuse myself.

 Cant blame you guys for hitting RR on saturday the ocean is always going to be there.
  I may be up for a  steelhead hunt on sunday or C-lake depending on my motivation sunday morning. Flew over RR yesterday and the viz is improving everyday.
Saturday is still on, 10am at Doran to test a few boats.

Yeah, take lots of pictures!  Sonoma coast can be f'ing brutal on hobies, as I found out summer 07.

Is crab season still open?

If so then bring your crab gear, fellas, and let it soak while you play in the waves. I'd love to join ya, but got plans in the city with the old lady.

Mickfish turned me on to the ghost shrimp there, bring a pump if you have one, you can get a zillion of them in no time, local and free.
Im going for the steelies or I would join you. Dont forget to take some pics...

Just got Home after being up for 3 days

 Think I'm coming down with something too...cough..cough

 Still think I'm heading out there with the Family tommarow, but may leave the yak behind

 Looking forward to kicking it on the Beach..
