hmmm   no thank you.
After the tape jobs ive witnessed here ill decline to present this fish for AOTY. It would be an insult to this fantastic creature who put a smile on my face and a quiver in my hands.
Ill go get a bigger one.
this does bring up, again, the need for standardized measuring though.
back to work.

Way to MAN UP T-dro'!  your doing the right thing!  that thing looked like the tail must have been off the ZERO mark a 1/2 foot at least! a total disjustice to that fish.
......Props to ya'!!     &DAN'sPROUNDofYOUtoo! :smt003

Is there an official who makes the judgment calls like this when they do arise?  or is there even a need?

Don't forget Adam, while the mouth should be shut, you should/can also pinch the tail.  You'll loose a little on the mouth but might gain a bit on the tail, esp. on fish with a forked tail.

I make the final call but only if it is important. I am not going to worry about it until it is important for a place.

So yeah I would give you 21" on that.

It was actually a bit more than the night. I work 24 hour shifts, then after I got off the water, I was so stoked about the fish I couldnt sleep.

I thought you'd be used to those big fish by now! I get excited too. I was talking to someone in the Sniffers about that one day and this guy when he catches an 8#er he says "It's going to be a good day" and goes about to catch 4 or 5 more. I on the other hand when I get one of those I am so stoked and I just sit back and enjoy the moment.
