Tie down's

I am wondering what everyone uses for tying down gear,milk crates,and all the little things that seem to get eaten by the water. Any great systems out there. Have lost my fair share of gear so far rod and reel somehow got yanked out the back rod holder, finger nail/line snippers, haven't dropped my paddle as of yet and the side holder bungee thing works great but thinking maybe I should back it up with a leash. Appreciate any info and links. Lee

I use med/small brass clips (ace hardware) to attach leashes to the kayak.  The other end is either zip tied, velcroed (like a velcro watch band) or electrical taped to my gear.

I use brass clips and cheap mountaineering cord.  Simple and strong.
