We visited Jughandle SR beach briefly last weekend.  Seems like a nice sandy beach.  This is one of the nices beaches I've seen in CA.  I'd like to take my family here next time we're in the area.

Is anyone familar with this beach?  Is the water safe to play in or is there a strong rip tide?  Any other comments?

Kevin

We almost paddled there the other day when you were with us, its right around the corner.  It can get pretty big surf, but it is a beauty.

I've fished from some of the rocks there ...

First cast: a 16" cabby.
Second cast: a probably-legal greenling (threw it back w/out bothering to measure).

Third through thirtieth casts: Nothin'.

I was using extremely fresh ab guts as bait.

As for the beach ... seemed nice enough!  Didn't notice the surf though. :-)
