Before i break bread for these things, I have a couple of ?'s
*can you fit them over breathable waders (the kind w/built-in booties) without cutting off blood circulation?

*are they hard as hell to take off (like the above mentioned built-in-bootie-waders?

I have a pair of the Hodgman Surf Shoes(neo,zip-up & thick soled) but I still get frozen feet in the winter and it's NOT FUN....read a note about if TOO TIGHT, no matter the temp, you will be cold. I wear the same thing the rest of the year and have NO CIRCULATION ISSUES.

thanks in advance for any and all feedback.
or WHAT KIND DO YOU WEAR in the COLD?

or WHAT KIND DO YOU WEAR in the COLD?

I've got a set of Hodgmans breathable with the built in neoprene feet, if it is really cold there is almost nothing like a good old thick pair of wool socks worn inside the waders. Wool is generally still pretty cheap, wicks water in case your feet get too warm and still has a insulation factor when wet. One last plus for wool the attached neoprene booties on the waders slip right off over the wool socks.

The wool socks are the right size, the waders are one size bigger than I really need. To finish it off since I don't like my feet to be real constrained I'll throw an extra large pair of wake boarding or waterski shoes - something with traction basically to keep from slipping when launching or landing.

The waders admittedly look a little silly being too big but I can wear my paddling suit or other layers underneath. Actually I originally went with the waders for fishing the Delta in the winter not really for the protection from water but for the protection from the wind. The wind would blow right through the paddling suit and even dry it was a cold paddle racing in trying to beat the sunset.

Hope some of that helps.  :smt001
