'scuse me while I throw this minnow on the grill and eat it whole...

WTF, the little guys were floppin 'round on the grill!!!  surly you could throw them on ice till they froze to death, then grill 'em up....

Looks like fun, Bill.   I like that little ice-fishing "tent city".

Rockfish:  Ever done surf fish?  (with a special net when they run in the thousands)  It's a tradition up here on the North Coast.  They are about the same size as those little Japanese fish, and are cooked whole in oil until crispy, then eaten whole, head, guts and all.   Delicious and nutritious!   But then, I'm sort of an "Anthony Bordain" kind of seafood eater.  The weirder the better sometimes.  :smt002

perhaps I should expand my culinary experiences to include fried tiny fish, but that seems a little nicer than a hot grill....maybe....  then again I shoot and eat all kinds of birds and critters...  well they are dead before cooked   :smt001

RF: The surf fish are dead before they go into the hot oil.  I also put crabs and crayfish into the freezer to dull their senses for a few minutes before the boiling water.   They say they don't feel it, but since I never asked a boiled crab what the experience was like... :smt002
