I am guessing DH = Dual Hatch. The most convented of the t160 line and has spawned an insane cult following lead by JTF.

First of all, if it was anyone that inspired "the cult", it was bluekayak :). Secondly, it's not really a superstar of a boat, at least in my never humble opinion. But for what I'm looking for in a boat, it fits better than the alternatives.

As to the ad itself, I didn't see the boat, but if it had two hatches, and was a Wilderness Systems SOT, then could it have been the Freedom? I know there's one that's been for sale for quite a while up in Sac, but it was just too expensive for "an experiment in fishing suitability".

Regards,
Scott

The freedom is not an experiment as fishing platform. Going on almost 10 years with mine as a fishing yak. When you need speed and distance, it will out pace t160s and scuppers.

10 years? So where are the pictures of your pimped out Freedom? What are you using in the way of rod holders? Fish finder?

I'll get some pictures posted over the weekend. I'll bring it to the next get together for people to test paddle.

Brian G, I'd like to check out your freedom sometime.  Next time your gonna be near the east bay or me vice versa in the stockton delta we should try to get together.

The one thing I'll say about the double hatch kayaks is that they made a full swing in popularity in the last two years due to a couple factors in nor cal waters.  The unforgiving shore launch and landings being the main one.  Another thing about them is the minimalizing factor.  It really does make you bring only the essentials and master not losing them on the water.

I do admit that Pauls (bluekayak) long range paddles really inspired me to purchase the t160.  But, truth be told, I wanted this ws kayak long before I even knew who Paul was.  I really admired its design and shape just looking at it in brochures.  So, blue kayak started the cult following, I merely showed that a normal man could also paddle and catch large fish on this yak.  :smt003 jtf
