...spaghetti sauce!  Went for a MTB ride with Jelly.  Ended up getting some shrooms and a fresh sprig of bay to round out the sauce.  Going finish it of with some wild hog sausage...survivor man wine country style!!!

Those Chantrelles a bit on the light side?  I'm sure you know what you're doing, but be careful!   :smt001

According to Leah's mom, who is a mushroom master, they aren't chantrelles, but tasty none the less.  I am not a fungus guru so I either ask Leahs mom or Bigeyedave.  Bigeye is the yoda of fungus.

Those aren't chantrelles.

They look like some sort of agaricus, but I don't know.

Hope they tasted good, and your liver is intact!

I give those of you credit that can go out and get your own shrooms. I have enough trouble with fish ID so no way would I ever give it a shot. I prefer to leave it to my green grocer for that task.

Sean,
I don't know what kind of shroom those are, I've been seeing them around in big numbers lately. They look like there are in the russula family though. Agaricus look more like the typical button mushrooms in the market. Chantrelles have gills that go down the stipe (stem) and aren't really as defined. They are more rounded than like blades, and the edges are much more varied. If you smell a golden chanterelle, they smell like apricots. The ulitmate rule to follow in shrooming tho is "if your not 100% sure through it out..." Be careful.
