All,

2007 was a horrific year for me for fishing.

I DID NOT FISH ONCE THE ENTIRE YEAR!

I never even bought a licence.  This will not happen again.

That said, I would like to do some fishing in January in the north valley.  I'm thinking of hitting up the midwinter bass at Oroville.  The lake is low, but it is full of bass that seem to bite all the time.

Anyone like to meet up on a weekend day at Oroville?  Anyone fished there before (I haven't)?

I'll bring some beer in exchange for "guide" service.

Wow, that totally sucks.  That's one way to throw off your balance of nature.

I don't ever get down to your area, but if you're up for a trip to Shasta we can hook up.  I've heard the two fish very similar.  I usually focus on hunting this time of year, and switch over to bass in March or so.  When I do fish Shasta this time of year, brown spider jig in 30-45' water fished very, very slow.  Or, use your fish finder to located a school and drop shot on them.  You won't get monsters, but find the right cove and you can pull 12-15" 'ers out all day.  Good fun!  Anyways, get out there and enjoy it!

I've never had a good luck in Oroville, but that was before I yak-fish, so might good idea to go back there & if you wanna try Feather or Berryessa then let me know too! :smt004
