My Son (holy Toledo) and I drifted our kayaks from Memorial Beach to Wholer bridge. It's always an exciting start to your day to cross under the 101 bridge at Healdsburg.........I always manage to get splashed on the faster moving switchback just under the bridge.  We long-line-released one small trout and that was about it. The water is very clear all the way down.  We played leap frog with six drift boats during the day........... one boat reported a hook-up but did not land the fish  (second Hand). The river was still very exciting even at it's current flow. It was great to get a little practice in before the fishing really gets going. We bumped into Mickfish on the beach at Wholer and gave him a first hand report.  Well let the rains begin and we will do it again.

Nice report, oto.  Time on the water is always worth it - bites or no.   :smt001

Good seeing you guys on the river. I checked out some spots on the lower river and then went to Wholer hoping to see you as soon as I drove across the bridge I saw this.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
