I'll be headed out to Del Valle early Saturday afternoon following some WAF building errands in the morning, and any company is certainly welcome. We've got a low pressure moving in and it may start raining on Sunday. These are my favorite trout fishing conditions, although fishing in a light rain is right up there too. I plan on trolling Rapalas or maybe some new flies that I tied this past weekend. I'll keep an eye out for other yakkers, so if you're out there be sure to say hello!  :smt006

FJ,

Trout are in close but the stripers seemed to have moved to deeper water. Marked a few last week, but not many.
Most folks getting trout on Dough Balls aka Powerbait. I marked quite a few trout in less than 8 feet of water

Hey Jay -

Kill some trout and hug the dogs for me. I would bring small clousers and lefty's if you have them.

Tempted to go out there again myself, but have been trying for Striper's and only catching trout.  Where did all them striper's go?  Saw many a good report with people at least catching some keepers, and juvies.  But with two strikes for the days I went, I still haven't seen one pulled from this lake, while I was there.  Maybe just too late in the year?  Or do I need to switch tactics?

Wish I could go but have family plans this weekend. Have a great time and catch some stripers for me.

Thanks for the well wishes! I had to be away from the computer for a couple of days, but I'm still planning on being out there tomorrow. Right now it looks like I should be out there no later than 1:00 pm.

You should look at yesterdays Cron. outdoor page. Tom Stienstra is a good writer and fisherman and he was just there. The article tells about what he caught and what he was using. It said the conditions are perfect from now until the rain starts. In case you didn't know, I think most people get there through SFGATE.COM.
