I rode my bike on West Cliff yesterday. It looked more like the north shore of Oahu! I saw one guy ride a  20 to 25-foot face for what looked like a half mile. Amazing!

Three foot waves were rolling into the Santa Cruz harbor!  On the west side, there were some of the biggest waves I have ever seen over there. Some were four times the height of the surfers, making them 20 - 25 foot faces. There were a bunch of fire trucks on the west side, just waiting for people who needed to be rescued. I was imagining what it would be like to be out there in a kayak. Not pretty. Even most of the hard-core surfers had trouble paddling out.

Watched the news last night and saw a guy on his way out paddling a Sit-In - straight into a wave.  I thought, "he must be nuts!"  Two words - NO THANKS!

Saw those guys on the Steamer webcam. The waves were all far beyond my surfing skills, those guys are all hard core kayak surfers.
Way to go guys!
