I know a few others here are also present on the Kayak Fishing Stuff forum, but most of you would not be aware of this. A fine kayak angler that went by the nickname Titowoody died recently while out kayak angling this week. More information can be found here:

http://kfs.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/948607442/m/9241053164/p/1

I never met Serge, nor even corresponded directly with him, but from his posts, I'd imagine him to be soft spoken and warm hearted. It looks like he had registered here, though never posted.

As another post says: "Be careful out there".

Regards,
Scott

10-15' waves, 50 MPH winds and snow squalls!   :smt009  I wonder if there's speculation that it may have been suicide?  It's too bad.

Thanks for posting the link, Scott.

Wow that is terrible. If you read the entire thread you will see it was fine when he launched then all hell broke loose. He did not launch in those conditions, those conditions descended upon him.

  Very Sad,  :smt009

 A Huge Wake Up Call.

This man they call " Tito " knew his waters well and had all the right stuff and experince one could hope to survive out there,

         something happened anyway..

Sad story and one we must learn from in this sport.  Never met the man but we are the only few who can imagine what he went through.  Others will not understand...

May he rest in peace and his family and friends have the strenght to endure this painful loss.

Luis

I only read the page that popped up from the link.

"Concerned individuals in Fifty Point Park first called police around 3 p.m. Tuesday when the man left shore despite treacherous weather"

I can't imagine that he actually did go out in the conditions that ultimately occured...

If you read the whole thing and watch the news clip it sounds like the weather was fine when he launched at 2pm and went nuts about 3 pm with winds going up to 70kmh.  No one was predicting the severe change in weather from the context of the weather story.  Damn.

I will NEVER forget the day the wind changed like a switch on me Jelly and Rockhopper at San Pablo.  That long paddle GOT REAL LONG...that day remains one of the scariest moments of my life.

RIP brother, sad you didn't make it back. Say hi to Chef for me!
