Arrived at the Elk and Sixes rivers as they peaked from last week's rains. The Elk on wednsday, upper Sixes on thursday, and lower Sixes to the ocean on friday. The only keeper fish came on friday, a 39" 32lb buck taken on diver and roe. As soon as we had it landed we rowed back into the same spot and immediatly hooked up again! We lost that one. Prime conditions but not many fish. There were 60 boats on the Elk on wednsday and I heard of only 12 fish taken!
I was rowing the Willie boat, not a kayak.
Oregon is Oregon, beautiful rivers/drifts. The weather was incredible too.
My camera died just before the keeper fish :smt010 It was a handsome buck that took me a half hour to land. It fought to the bitter end.
We camped at Cape Blanco campground. Oregon has great campgrounds! Great/clean facilities!
The smoker shot is the only pic I got of our keeper!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Juan... did I say that you were a fishing fool... I meant, a fishing maniac. Awesome... just awesome... 15k since the spring... and still counting.
