Decided to finally take the opportunity to have an entire lake all to ourselves today, even though it's only at 30% capacity.  Got onto the water at 11:30 and ended up finding them at the point opposite of the South put in, at 1:30pm.  Lots of fish along the North side of the point.  3 hookups (1 landed, 1 unbuttoned, 1 stupid) within 30 minutes on minnows, but the bite was dead by 2pm.  We didn't see a boil all day.  Very easy launch, with only a slight amount of mud at the water line.

Thank you all for the awesome intel about the put in, rigging, where to get those huge feisty $1.25 minnows!!  My Australian buddy Andrew used to only fly fish.  Now he's addicted to LMB @ Clearlake and having huge expenditures on new gear.  Mendo is on the way! Next time we'll bring our fly rods.  This was our very first time fishing Mendo.  Now is the time.

Congrats. This has certainly been a banner year for stripers at Mendo.

Let's all remember how much fun these stripers have given us and continue to support the striped bass association.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
