A low pressure front moved through today. That means the stripers gonna' be active. And they were. They were all over the ff too. That's what made me change over to an extra-fast sink head, to see if I could get my fly down quickly when I saw the schools under my boat. It worked great!
I was also throwing a topwater on my spin-rod and popped it off on a fish. A little later a canoe cruises into the area and asks me if I lost a lure. Sure enough! What are the odds?
The fly in the pics is a home-tied job. Real simple, a shiny tail, mylar tube folded backwards for the body and head, then epoxy the head. They ate it up last night! I went 3 for 4 on that fly.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

WTG mako.  I saw you in front of the SBR.  I was walking across the dam when I saw you.  I went to the east side kinda by the spill way to practice my turkey calling skills.  it was tough.  I like the frosty cold scrimshaw in your cup holder. MMMMMMM!  I like the quality of your FF!  Mine blows.  I'm going to Cabela's on Friday for the grand opening in boomtown.  I might add a new one to the list of goodies.

Question about that first picture.  The big black mass, is that an enormous bait ball with stripers below, a good sized school of stripers, or a combination of the two?  I never experienced anything of the such during BAMIII.

That! my friend, is what your looking for!  the big mass are baitfish and the LRG.ARCHs are STRIPERS feeding in it!
...put your FF into AUTO in the SENSITIVITY MODE(if it can) or adjust it to a HIGHER % (80-90) playwith it when you see stuff on it....keep away from the Fish-I.D. MODE....i hear it's not as effective in deteriming REAL fish and thier SIZE.
