launched at 9:30am wed. there was no wind, thick fog,and a mixed swell. we set four pots in 70-80ft water straight out from the cove. we came in and went back out for limits of 7-8inch abs at the south entrance to the cove. went back out after a 3hr soak. first three pots came up with starfish and rock crab. last pot had six keeper dungeness. still learning to read the difference between rock and sand bottom on the ff.

I got 2 legal dungees there a year ago too.  But I was just using crab rings and only checked it twice.  Thank you for reporting you got 6 dungees and glad to hear you had a nice abs/dungees combo trip.

Nice work Jack!  I've only crabbed up there a couple times with hoops and never really gave it a serious effort.  That's a nice smorgasbord you got there.

Nice too hear that you got some nice abs, I wnated to head last weekend but stayed away because of the rain. Have you ever put pots out at Ocean Cove? I enjoy staying there and was wondering if it would be good there also.
Enjoy your nice seafood dinner!

i launched pots at oceancove once and got nada. i think it is mostly rocky bottom in those parts. if you had a fishfinder and could find some sandy bottom you might do alright.
