Grad school classmate is getting married aboard a SF charter cruise (like a Hornblower-type) out of SF.  She only has the next two weeks to plan it for a date of 12/28/07 (FYI, she's not pregnant, nor is the rush related to any immigration issues  :smt003).

What I know:  guests will number ~ 50-70.  Not very cold tolerant bunch.  prolly someone will end up over the rail chumming.  Launch at Noon return at 1630.  Chow at about 1400, consisting of barfaroni and boil in a bag poultry. (j/k I have no idea about the food).  no-host bar.

Got a few q's if anyone can give some input.  Just need to issue spot to make it as smooth as possible.

1) Has anyone done a wedding cruise in SF Bay?

2) How's the weather that time of year for this activity?  (that's like predicting the lotto, i know)

3) What would be a good backdrop for the ceremony - candidates are ayala cove, Mccovey, TI, tiburon, or fort baker looking at GG in background

4) When we're underway, should I be trolling a 2 oz hairraiser with tricktail or drag around a diving plug instead?

I'd troll the hairraiser!

Depends on what you want to fish for. :smt005

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Don't know if Yakuza is a married man, but if I weren't, I be trolling for bridesmaids!   :smt004   I'd leave the lures at home and bring the pick-up lines.

Martin, if you predict passengers will be coughing up the barfaroni over the rail, I don't think you would want to keep any fish caught while trolling. Or even touch 'em. You might get a barfaroni upchuck.

...I'd slip the Capt. a $20 and have 'em anchor in San Pablo Bay.....rig your rod with some ghost shrimp and toss 'em out....leave the rod on a clamp on rod holder that secures on the rail.... put a little bell on the rod tip and then go around an socialize...just don't venture to far from your rod....make sure your within bell-ringing distance.

Just my two cents :smt002

oh...and tell the bridesmaids that you have a single-and very available friend....and then hand them this pic......(just say "he's the stunt double of Leo De Caprio)  :smt002
