Yak Cam

The day before my last trip to Baja my new V.I.O. POV1 camera arrived, then my luggage was lost with the mount for my kayak. So I only had one day on the trip to try the camera out. I think with a little more time this is going to be a pretty nice addition to my videos.

 How did you land that tuna/Bonito whatever it was, did you grab it by the tail out of the water?

That was a Skipjack, I just grabbed it by the tail.
This was my first time using the camera and I thought that it was on during that point so I missed some good action. Oh Well

Very cool. Those skippy's are fun to catch but I don't like to eat them. Pompano are great eating like the ulua i Hawaii.

We use the Skippys as strip bait for Dorado. They are fun to catch unless you are in the middle of a school of YFT and you just keep hooking skipjack.

Nothin' wrong with eating skipjack. On the long-range trips, most people turn their noses up at skipjack but don't hesitate to munch on skipjack sushi.

Jim, I presume your video shows is much clearer and sharper than viewed via YouTube?

When hooked right to the TV it is very clear. To post on the web you have to make the files mush smaller.

I am sure they are. Most people don't like Bonita but it is one of my favorites when handled correctly.

Nice camera and video.  Skippy are delicious prepared Hawaiian style as Poke which is made with cubed raw skipjack, coarse sea salt, sesame oil, chili flakes, chopped green onions, and seaweed. Mmmm... Good!!!!
