Well I am loving it. 4th time out and it was glassy and calm when I launched. Little later launch today got out at 6:30. Trolled some frozen bait to the red can with no luck. Got out to the red can and there was no bait balls anywhere. Ended up drifting pretty far out and was making my way back trolling a squid when i caught my first ling cod! Was 19.5inches and released it. Ended up basically deciding I was going to try my luck along del monte for halibut but didnt make it. Trolled squid again and ended up catching probably 10+ rockfish. Only a couple I wouldve kept but ended up releasing them all except one that I used as live bait. Within seconds of it being down I got my second ling on. Made sure I waited for it to grab it. That one was 20.5 and released it as well. Asked a fellow kayaker to help me measure it as my paper measuring was not very good (ordered a measuring foldable board  :smt001) He had a giant ling on his stringer so they were definitely out today. About 10:30ish the weather shifted and white caps were blowing across the bay from San Carlos to Santa Cruz. It was a mission getting back I definitely overstayed out there but definitely learned from it. Anyways hope this helps anyone going out this week! Cheers and heres some pics

Thanks for the report. The swell was pretty big in Santa Cruz today, and not many boaters went out...
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Thanks for the report Swimshady. I’ve been itching to get out to scout some squid eaters out there.
