Danglin,

Glad to see you finally picked up some flatties.  They are still there after the rain so that's good news.  I was going to stop by at WestMarine on Sunday but had to build the WAF account back up.  That water looks so flat it calls you when you stare at it.  Smart man for using the treble hook method because I catch 99% of the fish on the treble.  Tried small treble and big treble and it always gets them.  Even hooked one on the back of the fish and it wouldn't budge and sat on the bottom for a long time!  I thought I had caught my lifetime butt but it ended up being an average fish of 30 inches.

Guys,
Forgive the newbie question...but where in Richmond do you launch and how do you get to the Hampton Shoals?
Do you figure it to be better then Paradise?

This place can go from lake conditions to rough water so be careful (there's my warning).  The tide can also be strong enough to drag you away from your original launch area!  First time I tried this spot I didn't read the tide table and hit the peak of the outgoing tide and ended up getting a workout trying to get back instead of fishing.

Danglin is launching from Point Richmond at the end of Dorman Drive.  Try this map link => http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG51BF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLWJ1dHRvbgRzbGsDbGluaw--#mvt=h&q1=dorman%20drive,%20richmond,%20ca.&trf=0&lon=-122.387438&lat=37.909534&mag=3

Ya, the warning is no joke..

The first time I tried it was blowing a bit so I took it easy and stayed close, good thing,

it whiped up in a second and and blew me right to my launch, which was nice, but if my launch

was else where..... Good night ........ Danglin

Early would be better,

Just shoot out straight from the launch and start fishing once you get past the harbor entrance with the rock jetty,

The fish are scattered all through the area,

Keep your eyes OPEN :smt107 for the Big Ships passing through!!!!!!!!!

Nice job!!! Good report. After today I start my 4 day and plan on hitting Paradise again (So Cal fires permitting). Just wondering if you have ever tried live Shiners and if so how you did. I'm DONE using them, in my opinion they are a waste of money and time. Give me a frozen anchovy for butts any time.

You went to Richmond?

Man, I ran out of bait out there.....

I did talk to a guy who fished by the berkeley pier yesterday and did nothing, that area was

reported to be going off, so I don't know..... Isda is talking about Salmon around Paradise.

might be the place to try. Go for the double header..

Too bad ya can't use 2 rods in that area .... Danglin
