Eddie, sorry to hear about your sonar woes. I have a Striker 4 you can borrow until you get your unit back, if you want.

Thank you!  I’ll go commando in hope and wonder why I  caught a fish without one and I’ll resent the repair fee all the more.  To point a temporary transducer on an exterior mount could work but technical.  I truly appreciate the offer.

Anytime Eddie - it's sitting on a kayak that I don't use often, and no permanent mounts/etc on my end, so easy to pluck off.  Let me know if you change your mind - and if you end up using it, just save a waypoint or two in there, haha.

Ok ok...Hummbird did right regardless of repair fee.  They sent me a new unit and transducer G3.
I had a G2.  Now the installing zoo but I'm satisfied for now.  I'm hoping it's a clean setup.  Tearing out the previous transducer took some prying with rope slicing technique. Fished the wires through from my rear access hatch install.  Trying to gauge how much wire to allow for the hatch to open with out restriction yet not having too much excess wire floating around in th hatch.  Trying a new spot for my batteries with industrial velcro underneath the top of the hatch.  One for Sharkshield one for FF.  Carry on.  :smt006
