I did a free online course. I think it was like Boulder, USA and then submitted that certificate for the voter card and paid the fee. I thought it was actually pretty good because I definitely learned a few things and have just acquired a small boat so it makes it more relevant.

Thanks for the info.   I will search for the free online website.

Click on the 'free boat safety course' and select California. It gives you pretty clear instructions and how to register it with the State to get your card.

The courses have minimum times per page so it takes a little while but again, I  learned a few things anyway. I'm actually glad people need to know this stuff!

Morons like that deserve to capsize their boat and lose it all.  Luckily none of those surfers were injured due to his stupidity.
