Water level at Lexington?

Am planning on paddling Lexington this Sunday since the weather is supposed to be nice (75F sunny)

Does anyone know how the water level looks recently?

drove by yesterday and its pretty low but you should be able to paddle.  prepare for a hike to get down to the water.  If you are near Lake Anderson in Morgan Hill, they were 70% full, but you have to fight the speed boats/road warriors/ hooligan/ miscreant....

researcher, if you just plan on paddling (and not fishing)...you can launch at the Port of RedWoodCity  and paddle along the sloughs - lot's of fellow paddlers in that area....or you can hit the Foster City Lagoon as well. Both locations are free and you'll have no issues with WCI (world Class Idiot) boaters and jet skiers 

In Foster City Lagoon, you can paddle up to Chevys, dock the yak and have lunch and a enjoy a cold one     

If you paddle from the San Mateo side, you can hit the Fish Market too

For this weekend I'll prolly just hit Lexington, since my other goal for Sunday is to get my dad out of his easy chair (grin) and outside for some cardio/walking. So the lake is a perfect venue for this kind of deal since he enjoys walking around the perimeter while I paddle along. Good times.

But the 2 suggestions you mentioned (sloughs, lagoon), I will *definitely* try on my next outing (in about 1.5 weeks when I'm on PTO woohoo).
Especially that cold beer idea... that sounds nice 

Last Fall, I paddled my Caper over at Corkscrew slough and enjoyed myself immensely. I've been meaning to get back there ever since, but the time has just flown (has it already been a year?)

I also mis-judged the distances involved last time, so I need to start earlier in the day. I was hoping to reach the bay last time, and after 1.5 hrs of paddling I was only half-way

If it makes you feel any better, I used to do the Redwood Creek->Bay->Steinberger Slough loop in just over 2 hours in my sea kayaks

Well, I ended up going to Calero since it was nearby, and I had a great time

I've never been there before and was expecting to see a lot of powerboaters, etc
But I guess since the water level was so low, there were only 2 PBs and a guy on a jet-ski.
I launched at the dock around 2pm and paddled to the dam in about 45 minutes (it was really windy there yesterday)
Once I reached the dam, I just threw my legs over the sides and enjoyed watching the wakejumpers fall  . The guy on the jet-ski was pretty entertaining too.
And the return to the dock was effortless, with all that wind at my back

Since the weather was so beautiful, this was one of my top 5 paddles this summer

As a recreational paddler of Anderson I can only say that these world class idiots usually have a bikini or five along for the day.  The ramp at that place is a freakin zoo of amatuers but if you launch from the bridge area off Dunne Ave you are right in the 5 mph no wake zone and popular anchor area for sunbathing hotties.  Paddle past the high traffic anchorage area for some bass action.
