Looks like a little with my wife after Christmas to Caspar. I thought I might bring my kayak and gear. Any decent rockfiahing in the area? What if crabbing opens up? Staying pretty close to Caspar cove.

I see Cabrillo SMP to the south so I wouldn't go that way.

I used to ab dive a lot around there but that was long ago.

I regularly fish Caspar -- probably going tomorrow, in fact.

It's a good spot. Easy, protected launch in the bay, though you do have to haul across some soft sand to get to the water.

I've had good rf luck off the south side of the north point rocks.

Best place I've found for ling is off the south point, farthest-seaward rock and out from there.

It's the best place on this coast for cabezon (imho), typically in shallower water to the south of that south point. I was with a buddy last year who landed a 26"-er when I was with him, in about 25' of water.

Good luck!

Shoot me a PM when you get your plans set and we see the forecast and we can buddy-it if you're interested and I'm around.
