Berryessa 10/11 report

Started with a bang with 3 hookups on good fish in the first hour and a half. Then ended with no more bites over the next few hours.
Launched at Markley around 7:45. Started fishing in the cove based on Pasha’s theory that the fish might return to where they were released, and also noticing Big Nate’s photos with the Narina in the background.
First hook up on the downrigger was a strong fish that broke off pretty quickly. Second fish was a drag-pulling 18” rainbow on the sliding sinker. Released it . Then had another drag-puller on ( I keep the drag set to “Kokanee” mode) that I got to within netting range before it got loose. It was some sort of chrome but I couldn’t tell which type. All of this action was inside the No Wake zone. Then I “left fish to find fish” and didn’t find any more, even after returning to the spot. So it ended up being a one fish day.

The mystery of where those “spawning” kokes/kings congregate continues…

I'm imagining your lost chrome as a king, of course - so I'm jealous!
