I went out to New Melones in search of Giant Kokanee since the Big Blue was not so favorable. I was marking school of fish around 50 ft down and 70-100 ft down all day long. I had one rod at 50 ft down and other at 70-80 ft deep. I didn't get a single nibble at 50 ft down but I had 7 hook ups at 70-80 ft down, all being trout 15-17.5 inches long.

I was wondering the same thing, I feel like 50ish is about the deepest I've ever gotten w/4oz weights which is about the most I ever use for kokes heh

I had to use 8 oz weight because I couldn't see the 4 oz weight on the fishfinder at that depth because it was too far behind.
