Chuck...thanks for the report. We really had a great time fishing with one of the greatest kayak angler in NorCal. Glad to hear you're interested in fly fishing. Beware! This is some form of a "habit -forming" substance. You can really get hooked into it. It's a good thing though...adds versatility to the sports. Looking forward to shoot some arrows. Here are some pics. Too bad you can't add this to your AOTY entry. The smallest striper category, this could be a winner! :smt005

Looks like ACTION, ACTION and then ACTION!   Nice trip and documentation fellas!  do you have to plan your journey when the tides are slower/low flow or does it matter?

Thanks for the pics and shedding light on FlyFlinging out of a yak in the rivers.

Wondering where you guys launched and as Adam asked, are tides important there for both fishing and saftey? Tom

There is a 2hr + or - tide window that we usually follow. Water flow is not bad for small watercrafts like a yak. Lots of shakers/schoolies. For some reason flyfishing works best. You can launch at the Napa Yatch Club.

A couple guys suggested that and I'm sure that would have worked.  I still think it would be better if I just learn to use fly rod.

I got satisfaction in the end when I finally figured out what lure in my tackle box worked and started nailing them.  I'm sure if I started off with the fire tiger rapala, my fish count would have been as good or close to those guys using flys.
