I have to admit;  I wish there was two of me.  or I didnt work.

I love both.

I hit a bass lake this weekend.  I cracked a molar, so that was riding heavy on my mind, but I still had a blast.  I went to Lake Clementine.  far and in the hills.  I hoped it was deeper into fall fishing than say, Clearlake.  despite being the narrowest most harrowing road I ever gone down to get to a lake, I still almost got roosted by a ski boat and skier.  they think I am slalome cone or something.   the lake is very narrow, so they had to roost myass.

I caught a lot, but nothing big.  the kayaks with live scope kicked my butt.  grrr...  I got exercise in a beautiful lake.  no skunk.

bass fishing is a blast.  I still can cast accurately.  I can skip a bait.  I can still stand on my kayak. hah..all stuff I havent done since NCKA showed me the ocean.  :D. super weird have 6 rods on board now.  and tying knots with 10lb line feels so out of place after playing with thicker line for a couple of months.

Thanks for the reminder. I haven't bass fished in a long time, and definitely need to give it a try again one of these days.
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Sounds like a good day, even if getting strafed by a ski boat.  I checked out that lake on Google maps - looks nice out there. I might have to check it out sometime.  Any inspection protocol there?

I catch a lot of bass as by-catch when trolling for trout, sometimes some pretty big ones too. Does that count? Haha.

Freshwater in general is a different vibe for sure. I find it pretty relaxing, especially on smaller lakes with no motors. Quiet, peaceful, and a nice departure from the constant vigilance of ocean fishing.

As long as there are no sea lions, it would be way more relaxing 😎….

I got back into bass fishing about two years ago after a decade plus hiatus. It definitely has its own charm, and it feels worlds apart from bay or ocean fishing. I'm more than happy to have added it back into the fishing rotation. Glad that you had a solid day!

no mussel protocols besides a few warning signs.
