For years I have seen many people lift their kayaks on top of their vehicles, trucks, and trailers and it looks extremely arm/back breaking. I have created this video to show a different way of placing the kayak on the truck or trailer with less stress on the body. I hope you find this video informative. If so, please like and send to others to see (see attached for video). Thanks for watching!

PS: I have heard from a few about the loading the yak on the trailer with wet feet. The work around for this is to lay a piece of ply wood across the PVC so that you can stand on it and not worry about slipping. If that is not enough, you can glue or staple down some marine carpet on the ply wood for extra protection from slipping. I hope this helps.

Nope. Is this meant to be sarcastic or simply click bait?

Nope. Grinding the sh*t out of the bottom of the kayaks! I've built a cart that my kayak lives on in the garage. It is the same height as my trailer bunks. Just slide from one to the other. No lifting at all! Plus all of my gear goes on the bottom shelf of the cart. This keeps everything together so I don't have one of those, "Ah Sh*t. I forgot my ....!" moments at the waters edge.

Nothing about this video is compelling.

I don’t even know how I can even attempt to car top a Prius with that style. Personally I prefer to lift with my legs instead of pulling. Less chance of pulling your back if your feet ever slip.

What in the world are you smoking?

How the heck do you suppose your method is better than wheeling it right up and pushing it on the trailer like you initially showed?  I haven't ripped anyone in a while but you deserve it for posting this video.  :smt005

Haha +1. Everything is just wrong with this video. Adding more work and steps to put straps and get on top of the truck bed. The trailer part is just an accident waiting to happen. If you can’t even lift the front of your kayak a few feet off the ground and to the truck bed, then you really have no business being on a kayak and  should just get a boat at this point.

admittedly, i didn't make it to the trailer demonstration.   climbing into the back of a pickup truck when don't have to is just adding exposure to another place to get hurt.  i'm still very spry, but i had to help an older dude out of his truck earlier this week.  the guy in the video entered the truck bed with some effort as well.

the best way for me, is to use the bed extender.  i can hold my kayak directly in front of me and walk my kayak up on  it.  no twisting to the side, no climbing.

Well, that certainly was a "different" way of doing it. Thanks, but I'll stick with wheeling it right to the tailgate and simply sliding it in. Way less polyethylene confetti left on the asphalt that way.
