learned this weekend that there is a guy who sells live bait in Pillar Point Harbor.  We were down there w/o the kayak, walking Johnson Pier, found this guy at the end with a small-ish* bait cage, and lots of bait fish.  He positions himself down where the Pier makes an L, says he arrives 'by 8' most mornings.  Something to consider if you need live bait at half moon.

*small compared to the large bait barges you see in San Diego, Mission Bay, Oceanside, etc.

yah it would.  The guy had like a 19' (maybe larger) Boston Whaler type boat, bunch of nets and gear on it.  I'm *guessing* he nets the fish himself and brings them back?  Though I have no idea how commercial bait gathering works.

and no one seems to know he is there, so not sure how much business he gets, or how long he'll be there.

Good to know that's there. Opening at 8 seems late to me.
