Wow.  What a wild thing. Not sure I’ve even realized they exist.  I fished using a borrowed reel from my friend.  Some discontinued Accurate reel he searched high and low for.  No Level line.   It was interesting and very mechanical feeling.  I love laying the line neatly w my thumb.  Intuitive to operate.

There are so many to chose from!   And people casts them.

Very cool equipment. Never would have crossed paths w one if I just kept on bass fishing.

For NorCal check out an avet sxj (j is narrow spool aka jigging) magic cast (magnetic cast control) raptor (upgraded drag). Skip the 2 speed (did you know about 2 speeds? Mind blown! :smt044). Spool it with 30lb braid and slay everything you might find around here as long as you aren’t hooking into bluefin.

I haven't fished a lever drag yet, but I have been looking at some options from Penn and Avet. I love the simplicity, and I think a lever drag would be a great tool for my style of fishing. One of these days...
