Hi,
I bought the eagle 9 live and it doesn’t read water temp and sonar doesn’t work(doesn’t see bottom, screen blank).  I reset the unit and called support.  They said return to lowrance and they will inspect.  I was told the monitor was defective and they sent me another monitor and transducer.  Same problem.  I spoke with tech person and did the system, network, auto configure but nothing changed.

I thought this lowrance should work out of the box.  Anybody else have this eagle 9 live?
Thanks
Mark

I have no experience with any newer model lowrance units, and my old ones worked well.

I have seen electrical issues manifest themselves as a malfunctioning fishfinder. I recently discovered that my nocqua battery had gone bad when my FF stopped reading bottom or kept giving my bad readings. I would start by trying a different electrical source if you haven’t already, just to rule that out first.

yup. this is a common cause. Battery check, live units use POWER! LIPO 30 to 50 amp hr will keep it going all weekend

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

The chances of a brand new finder and transducer being bad is low, 2 in a row, even lower.  I'd say if you have issue with the 3rd unit, might need to setup new battery, wires and fuses because odds are, its probably not the unit and likely something in the setup.

Agreed.  Just to cover the basics, are you positive you plugged the transducer in properly, with the plug oriented correctly?

Hi,
I thought I was doing something wrong but the lowrance tech couldn’t help.  Checked plug was in correctly.

The lowrance tech did say we tested the first unit and found that the monitor was the problem so they sent another monitor.  However, the second monitor was not new in packaging (so I was suspect of the second monitor). Anyways, lowrance will check the second unit before sending out a third
