Too far of a drive for me for such small and fickle fish (that taste great).
I'm looking at Berry for trout/salmon/bass or Sherman Island stripers.

I'd like to. I'll have to check with the boss lady to see if I can get a hall pass. Just gotta charge my drive battery and replace the FF battery.

got my replacement pole at Walmart today $21, not bad.  Rigged it up, should be ready. Bought some frozen corn so I can make my proper brine.  Plan to leave whenever I wake up, be on the water not long after sunrise.  I charged my radio, so I'll actually be on Ch69 this time!

Great day on the water, ok day fishing ;)

Got to the Dark Day ramp just after sunrise - packed full of kayakers (FnS I think), worked the Dark Day Bay for a bit, but it was so crowded, you could walk shore to short just stepping on kayaks.  Turned off my radio (too much chatter) and worked the shore down to Willow Creek. I've literally never seen so many kayaks at Bullards, like 5x normal and 3x the max I'd seen before.  I was marking schools in the bay, but only getting fly by's, when I left the bay, picked up a couple more schools - but didn't seem to want to play.  I was working 2 and 3 ounce waits, anywhere from 45' to 125' of line.  Got down to willow creek, surprisingly quiet, talked with another kayaker - very slow for him as well, I think we both regretted working our way down there.  I worked the opposite shore on the way back, picked up a 10" koke just before tractor cove, went in to work the cove, I saw the schools, but could not get them to play.  I've had more luck using my downrigger, but downriggers can also be a PITA in a kayak, so trying to improve my sliding weight skills.  After 8+ miles and6+ hours, pulled out and headed home.  After enjoying a nice beer with Kevin in the lot (thanks Kevin!).

Mrs. BBT and I enjoyed the koke appetizer before our dinner.  So darn good, I'm convinced that Bullards kokes are the best tasting, it may be the size? the water? I don't know, but they are soooo goooood.

Hoping to get out there again next weekend!

Looks like a beautiful day Brian.
I have to agree on what you said — the kokes from BB tasted better than anywhere else I’ve tried.
Then again my sample is limited: only BB, Pardee, and Berry.

I had an outstanding day. Bought a new ff battery at Home Depot at 7am then headed up to Bullards. Finally launched at 9:00. There were a ton of Fresh-n-Salty kayaks in the cove by the ramp. My ff marked fish just 100 feet from the ramp. Put on my two go to Koke rigs and dropped them down. Boom. In less than 15 minutes I had 3 in the net. However, it was so crowded that you couldn’t go more than 100 yards without having to turn due to all the Kayaks. Reached out to Brian on the radio. He was all the way back in the Willow Creek arm. Headed that way, working all the coves on the way. Picked up several fish on the way. Got to my favorite cove and found it loaded with Kokes. Never made it back to Willow Creek. Reached out to Brian but somehow he got past me and was back near the buoy line. I stayed in that cove the rest of the day. Managed to net 28. Yes, 28 with 3 doubles! Finally headed back to the ramp at 2:00. Met up with Brian, had a beer and swapped stories. No big Kokanee today. All were in the 11-12” range. My fish came 20-30’ down in 30 to 60’ of water at 1.3mph. Since the BB fish-n-Chill is just a few weeks away, I’m not going to share what I used but I will tell you they had some Pink on them. Bullards is loaded with Kokes again this year. Get up there and get um!
