Nice gaff!  I love maple, and that's a nice piece.

Are you going to finish the wood and wraps somehow?  I made my gaff out of bamboo and epoxied the wraps.

The wood is finished with a marine grade tung oil that I had left over from touching up the teak on my last sailboat. Have not made a decision about the wraps yet: we talked about epoxy, spar varnish, or maybe even just putting a bit of CA glue on the ends and calling it good. Open to suggestions.
