My wife has a 2010 Outback and a couple of those threaded plug pad eye's are broken. Is there a better source for those besides paying about $20 each from hobie (product plus shipping) that I'm not aware of? Seems pretty steep.

I have about four of the bungee hook ones if you want. I swapped them out since I don't use the bungee in tankwell.

I have about four of the bungee hook ones if you want. I swapped them out since I don't use the bungee in tankwell.

I don't find those bungee hook things to be too useful, but it is not to difficult to modify them. I cut off the "hook" part, drill a hole, and add a short loop of bungee cord. The result is similar to the padeye type of threaded insert. LMK if that's not clear, and I can post a picture...

Totally clear. I've done something similar with a stainless "eye" bolt but i think it sticks out a little too much
