Hi everyone,

I haven't gotten in the water since April and am itching to get out this weekend, 4th of July crowds be damned. Is there anyplace in the Delta that won't be covered by jetskis, ski boats and general mayhem? I was thinking of Georgianna slough, but would appreciate other alternatives.

I would go to MBK or HMB, but it looks like someone's turned on the wind and swell.

I always recommend Sherman.  It's a nice place to paddle, I can almost always find a striper to play, there are multiple launching options, and the crowd on the water is pretty manageable.  It does get busy in the afternoon, but it gets windy then too.

With the holiday weekend, odds are you’re gonna see crowds

Windy shows SC and maybe MBK decent in the AM. Maybe figure 6am to 11am.

Ended up launching out of Sugar Barge at 8am on July 5th. To my surprise, the weather turned out nice and I ended up fishing Frank's Tract until 5pm. Water temp was ~73 degrees, perfect temperature for bass. Ended up with 2 keepers and a gazillion dinks. Kept one 16" bass for dinner and released everything else. Did not see any striper activity.

Seems like everyone was still hung over from the July 4th, as I was only buzzed by jetski/water skiers twice.

I'm sorry I missed this thread.  I know a spot only accessible by kayak.  better going with someone if your kayak is especially girthy.   there are a few stairs you launch and come back in from.  I tweaked my back once dragging back up.

the only boat you see came from a long ways off, and I have never seen a jetski.

anyone needs it, please reach out.  not comfy just blurting it out here.  :D
