Hi All,
As said multiple times, it was a sweet weekend up in Elk.  A big thanks to all who organized ... and all who attended.  Thanks to those who shared share their insights on catching fish (I really needed it, obviously).

Anyway, can you all tell me what is the best source for wind and swell reports?  I am thinking of Shelter Cove this weekend and want to check out the forecast.

Cheers,
Sean

Sean,

I use a combination between NOAA bouys, a windsurfer site and a surfing site.

I usually start here with the NOAA bouys
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/Maps/Monterey_Bay.shtml

just click on the bouy closest to your destination.  This will take you to a page for that bouy including the "latest NWS marine forcast" and a list of current conditions.

The windsurfer site is a bit more limited, but it does a decent job predicting wind for various bays (SFbay, Tomales, Bodega Harbor).

I like the way that have everything on one page, but they are a bit broad in thier geographic scope.

Brian

I start with the page for Tomales and on the left you can switch sites.

Finally, the surfing page

Sean,
I just go to the nws page and go to their marine forecast.

It looks pretty nice this weekend.  I expect to see a full report with pics of your big fish.

Pull the plug or redirect if the wind is worse than 10-20kts and the swell is worse than 6-8ft.
