Heard a Rumor about strippers and Halibut being caught on the troll off Richmond, so scouted out some

launch points yesterday and made a go of it today.

Lots of pedaling with no Hits, runs or errors, other than my Fish Finder Going down again,

Interesting area with much History.....And Many HUGE ships moving through!!!!

I did find some good launch spots though (Maybe move this to Places to Launch)....

1st one is out of Marina Bay, Follow Marina Bay Parkway off 580 till the end, there you will find a park

with nice bathrooms and a Very convienet ramp to a small beach, Solid rocks everywhere else...

West off this beach it soonturns to 50' of water!!!! Bacon Island is straight out from here and it is

reported that Halibut are being caught on the other side ( West ) of it, none for me...

2nd shot is Ferry Point park, easy parking and will need wheels to get to launch that is approx 100 yds away

It is possible to hit " Red Rock " from here, I would say approx 2 mile paddle,

Lots of pilings/Piers in the area for bait making possibilities....

3rd shot, 1 of the Brute ships that go through here while I was on the West side of Bacon Island...

Last shot... just some of the History that is all over the place .......Danglin

Thanks for the intel. I have a project in Richmond but have never thought about fishing the area due to safety concerns.

I've been on/inside the Red Oak...  Amazing they built those ships so quickly.

Nice report and pics, thanks.

The Marina is like DisneyLand, the whole area around the Marina bay and Richmond harbor are built up and going

through a Renaissance,

Another place is the Richmond Marina, I think it's called that, Dumpy little Marina North of the San Rafael Bridge,

Been meaning to try out of there too, all these places seem safe, But,,

it's still Richmond .... :icon_r&r: Watch yourself////,.... Don " Danglin " Anglin :smt006

Thats a cool little beach right there, tons of sea-glass from bottles. The guy with the liberty ship used to let us go thru the whole thing by ourselves, wild. Not too safe at night though... Lots of gang-graffiti and shell casings about.
