I'm planning on chasing Kokanee in Whiskeytown this Saturday. I have leadcore spooled up and ready to go. It's been moderately cold and super rainy the last couple months over there. High water in Whiskeyton now. But it's warming up this week and supposed to be pushing 70 by Saturday. Any intel on general zones to focus/depths/presentations would be appreciated! I'm planning on trolling in the hobie.

@ThreeMoneyj and I were there about three weeks ago. At that point, they were just outside of the bridge in the top 10 feet of water. We mostly chased jumpers and had some success. I'd start there. Good luck!

Might or might not be out there sat, weather looks good. I’ll be clamming in eureka next 2 days then heading back. The last 10 days have been constant rain and wind, the water vis usually takes a few days to clear up after a prolonged one. I’d avoid the oak bottom area when it’s all murked up like it is now.

They really like wiggle hoochies. Westmarine has a bunch of pretieds on sale for $1. Pink, sometimes orange, sometimes black/purple. Top 15-25 ft, some big ones have been hanging a little deeper down this season. I have a strong suspicion neither whiskey nor Shasta turned over this year. It’s been a weird winter. I usually fish brandy creek area.

Many fishermen spend their lives chasing fish, only to realize that it was themselves that they were chasing.

The "Salty" in my handle refers to my attitude, not the waters I fish
