Met with Joel, Dave, and Pierre and launched from the sectrect spot at 6:15.  Headed out of the harbor into 9ft seas with a wind at about 10 knots. Didn't feel windy.  It was my first time out at HMB and I was little nervous with all the reef waves and chop from the boats combined with the swell.  After getting comfortable and fishing for a  few minutes the wife calls to tell me that our two year old is sick and I have to meet her at the doctors around 8:15.   :smt013.  Dave hooked a ling and I was ready to fish some more but I don't want to Lose WIFE APPROVAL!

When I get to my truck I call my wife only to find out that the doctor prescribed medicine over the phone and that I didn't have to come back. :smt010 I think my wife has lost some husban approval for that one.

I hope the guys had better luck that me.....

Man, Jason, she owes you big time...

First time out of HMB, and I'm pretty impressed with the amount of structure available with a relatively easy paddle.  Today it was unnerving trying to find the disappearing breakers that would try to sneak up on you.  Can't imagine what its like when its calm enough to pinpoint the reefs.

Joel's stringer was bigger, but I came up with the ling (~27").  Fish fry for the Fourth...

Nice work guys! I can't wait to explore the reefs a little further out as well.

Now how many times did Joel snag?
