Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Just my $0.02...

1) Not "Typically sold for $60 EACH fin" as the ad says. Amazon has ST fins for $47 each.

2) It's misleading to call them "ST Turbo" fins, since "ST" and "Turbo" are 2 different things. ST is midway between the puny fins that come with the kayak and Turbo.

3) Does anybody actually use ST fins? I've tried them, and I can't see any possible advantage of ST over Turbo. So, if you are going to upgrade, I'd say that Turbo is the way to go. You can get knock-off Turbo fins for about $80 on Amazon (the real deal list of $63 each). I have not tried the cheaper version, but I have gotten Mirage drive chains sold by the same company (located in Singapore), and they were of excellent quality.
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Someone bought turbo fins and thought they could sell their old fins to recoup the cost.  Good luck buddy.

I see tandem users often only upgrade one of the mirage drives only.

I would buy it if I need a replacement since they're most available for that reason you mention.

Pretty much most people throw them away unless they are hoarders.  Anyone want 3 sets of ST fins?  :smt044

There are lots of complaints on the Hobie forum about the Turbo fins not being the default, since that's what everybody ends up with. It's a way for Hobie to squeeze a little more money out customers which, given how pricey their boats are to begin with, is a bit annoying...
