I know we've got some real talent on the list, so I thought I'd troll here for some website help.

This is a paying gig.  I'm starting a new business and I need a fairly simple website.  Probably 5 pages total. A few pages of info, an order page, a quote page, install a SSL cert, tie in with a merchant account.  Nothing fancy, no flash, etc.  Just fast, clean, easy to read and navigate and editable by me.

I also have a logo I need reworked.  I'll use it on the site, business cards, brochures, etc. I'd prefer to work with one person for both the site and the graphics, but I can split it up if I have to.

I'd like to go live in 3-4 weeks.

Please PM me if interested.

My girlfriend is a graphic designer, freelance...She'll be away until Sunday night, but let me know if you'd like me to ask her if she can help. She's done websites many times before, but I'd say her forte is more graphic design, as opposed to software.

PM me if you want,

Regards,

TallPaul

Thanks Sean,

I will give 'Zee' a shout.  The work he's done on your new logo is terrific!

On a purely geeky note:

If you will be sending email from your hosted address to potential customers, be sure that the block of IP addresses used by your hosting service are not blacklisted. Also, make sure that any needed reverse DNS records exist, and have legitimate looking timeouts. The last thing you want is to get your site all nice and purty, and then have email you send out get blocked by the addressee's spamwall. A good way to find out if you'll be having trouble, is to plug the hosted servers IP address into: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Regards,
Scott

Where would we be without geeks?

Scott, I owe you one.

I checked out the hosting site where my domain name is parked, and sure enough, it's blacklisted!  Then, I checked out one of the hosts I was considering using, and the response times were atrocious.  Now, I know what to look for.

Muchas gracias.
