Hello everyone!!

My name is Joshua. Just recently joined NCKA however not so new to kayaking the coastal waters. I’ve been diving, free diving, and kayak fishing our beautiful coast since I was 13 years old (I am now 23). I’ve been on a bit of a break from diving and kayak fishing our coast due to work and such but I’m back now baby!!!! Just bought myself a new yak that I’m starting to rig out and hopefully should be back in the water within a week. I joined NCKA because I love that us kayakers have joined together to form a community and from what I’ve seen so for it looks like a good one. I remember often seeing NCKA guys on the coast with us and one of you mentioned that me and my kayak partner would always out fish you guys XD. Hope to hear for you guys and thanks from having me here. If you’d like to go on a trip sometime feel free to msg me!

Hey Joshua, Ron here, welcome to the group, like you experience, I am also a scuba diver, just starting free diving and also kayak fishing. Am looking for free diving buddies, would like to go to Monterey, have gone to Lobos, Monastery, Lover's 3, Carmel, MBK. Keep in contact, look forward to meeting, Ron.

Hey Ron! Would love to go sometime. Also check out the Marin Diving Center. They have group fun dives they plan about 1-2 times a month around our coast. It’s about 10-30 people that get together and buddy up during the meeting in the beginning if nobody has one. I’ve known the guys over there for quite a while and they’re great people!

MDC is where I did all my certs, love the staff, John Catherine  are great. I have had some past medical issues (back and Hip) from a few years ago, so I have not been scuba for a while. That is why I am starting to get back in the water with free diving and then I have to get all the scuba gear and tanks checked, I am considering switching to side mount as one of my issues in all the gear out of water, I suck air, so I have 135 steel tanks that weigh. I am in San Rafael so I have been fishing at the Marin Rod and Gun club, both at their pier and using their launch to kayak in the area, and south to Paradise. I have gone to MBK in Monterey and had a good time there, lost a nice halibut, so want to try again. I am thinking of going out this weekend, maybe Sunday. I was going to try Fort Ross, but wave report looks like 6 to 8 feet with wind to 35 k, so that is a little to much for a fun time. Looking forward to a hook up, Ron.
