abalone yaking up North

Hi folks,
 I just got back from a road tour of Bodega Bay to Van Damme.
Conditions were excellent . The sea was calm and past the Mendecino line the water was even clear ! Visability was about 15-20 feet and only limited by the fog that set in in the afternoon.
 I explored the mythical Moat Creek, Anchor Bay, Pt Arena Bay, Buckhorn Cove and found the best launch and dive conditions at Van Damme.
 At the Anchor Bay fish cleaning sink I saw a board full of photos of fish and fisherman and lo and behold...a familiar face. He was holding up a big ling.
[  I'll give you a hint...he nailed two halibut in a row @ Tomales a few weeks ago and made everyone jealous].
       Kayaking out to where I could never swim before put a whole new twist on ab diving. I was able to paddle far beyond swimming limits to a spot where they were all 8 inches plus in 6-10 feet of water!
What a great place to learn and break in new folks!

Excellent!  I'm hoping to be out there somewhere this weekend if the conditions are favorable.

We'll be looking for a place where a few of us new folks can be broken in.

vandamme is my favorite place to paddle,fish,dive and camp. dont forget to paddle through the sea caves.
