My Seasonal Rounds are kicking in close to home.  The wild blackberries are finally starting to show, and I got out on the bay and found a nice halibut to take home.  Appreciating it for sure.   :smt001

Nice fish, and those berries look awesome too. No blackberries yet around here--not even close...

Thanks for the report and pictures Eric.  I love berry pie.

Loving the pics and post. We’ll be up for our annual trip July 30th.  Halibut and blackberries OMG… throw in some Mad River and Redwood Curtain beer, and our anniversary dinner at Larrupin; and you have the things dreams are made from!

Looks awesome! I really want to get up to the Humboldt area. You get halibut that come into the bay?

Yep.  The Humboldt Bay Cali bite just turned on a couple weeks ago, and it should last until October/first or second big rains.  Get ahold - I've taken lots of people out for quality halibut days.

It's not red hot.  I've gone twice this year.  First trip was a 2.5 hour skunk a few weeks ago.  This trip I had one under burlap in 30 minutes and released a shaker about 45 minutes later.  Missed one other bite in 3 hours total.  Swimbait and live bait people do well.  I like to use different methods with popsicles.  I was using the T-Roll yesterday.  W/ flasher.

Nice! I grew up with wild blackberries surrounding our property. A couple times every summer my mom and I would go pick a bucket or two, and make jam, ice cream, and cobblers. Her blackberry cobbler is still the best dessert I've ever had - nothing beats fresh blackberries! Nice fish too, haha.

As a kid my brother and sister would pick wild blackberry's from the Santa Rosa Creek in Santa Rosa. Our Grandmother would then make jam or a cobbler. Just good memories to share with the younger generation. Now that entire is covered with cement.
