The whales are here. We saw them from Mori point yesterday. At least 3. Working with the birds on anchovies probably.

I was reflecting on how, this time last year, we would be gathering at the parking lot, dreaming of landing a fat salmon  :smt010

On 5/27 I think a fin whale sped past me. It surfaced once for a blow about 25 feet away right in front of me and that was it. Looked really streamlined with a back kinda like an oversized dolphin with the curved fin. Usually I have a pretty good idea what kind of whales I spot, but not  that time.

Last year, I saw Casper, the white dolphin:
