Trolled 10-6 from Stinson out to Dux and in to Gull etc, no salmon today

A couple of boats I talked to out at Dux had nice fish otherwise still a lot of skunk going on One had 20 & 38lbs and another said they had a 40lber Tough fishing but worth it if you hit it right

Released one shorty ling that took the rsk

Water was nice enough most of the day but got nasty toward the end Uphill slog to Stinson was no fun Landed the south end of Stinson against lifeguard supervisor's orders but surf got worse the further north I got so what can you do

No blood on the hood

dude, you get an A+ for effort. 8 hours of trolling. you are so due for a mega-salmon. once again, my hat is off to you.

If water's messy I get on the downwind side to load gear before heading up to Stinson

That's some serious stench  If the wind hits it just right you get sprayed with a seriously toxic wind of feathers and stink

Always wondered about your salmon trolling setup.. what do you use to keep your lure/bait down? Planer, banana weight, cannon ball?

Zeelander

2 or 2 1/2 lb ball but I keep thinking I need to go lighter for the back's sake and a rod holder right in front of the seat

I remember my first time being near Seal Rock by the Bodega Harbor jetty. Smelled like death!
A 2 lb ball makes for quite an effort. Is it on a quick release?

Blue, I like that you keep your sense of humor. I always get a laugh from your posts, fish or skunk.

Best,
